Patient Services Coordinator IV

Job Summary:
The Patient Services Coordinator IV is a key member of the Johns Hopkins Medicine team, responsible for training, leading, and motivating team members. This role requires a clear understanding of the revenue cycle and professional competence in reviewing and securing all appropriate financial resources for patients to maximize reimbursement to the Health System.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complex multi-payer insurance verification and benefits eligibility procedures
- Obtain and complete documentation for pre-certification and referral/authorizations
- Assess patient financial liability and schedule, register, and bill patients
- Provide patient and family contact to receive payment, ascertain appropriate insurance coverage, and initiate applications for alternative sources of funding
Requirements:
- A.A. degree or equivalent required
- B.A. degree preferred
- Five (5) years of relevant work experience in medical office, hospital, medical call center or similar customer service environment
- Extensive medical insurance processing, admissions, and/or insurance experience required
Work Environment:
Full-Time, 40 Hours Per week, 7:00am-3:30pm
Salary Range: Minimum $19.92 per hour - Maximum $32.89 per hour
