Calculated Hire is seeking a Customer Service Specialist I to join our esteemed Financial Services organization. The role encompasses the following responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to provide ongoing systematic updates regarding closing agents, insurance, state licensing, background checks, wire instructions, legal modifications, addendums, and onboarding of new clients.
  • Confirm receipt of legal documentation and maintain a comprehensive system of record to ensure accuracy and compliance at all times. This role involves frequent communication with clients and closing agents primarily through email, addressing updates on approvals, client inquiries, and issues.
  • Support or participate in low complexity initiatives within the Customer Service department.
  • Review basic or tactical issues, policies, or procedures to quickly obtain answers related to low-risk tasks and deliverables with limited impact in Customer Service.
  • Receive guidance from supervisors and exercise judgment within defined parameters while gaining an understanding of functions, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Provide relevant information to client personnel within the Customer Service framework.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in Customer Service, Financial Services, or Contact Center environments, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education.
  • Familiarity with mortgage documentation, including but not limited to: Automated Underwriting Feedback, 1008, Investor Locks, Notes, Deeds of Trust, Allonges, Endorsements, and Riders.
  • Understanding of GSE guidelines and wholesale and residential retail processes (commercial experience is also considered).
  • Proficient in Excel, including skills such as Vlookup, data validation, and review.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with strong communication skills.
