JOB SUMMARY

This role is pivotal in overseeing the operations related to delivery services. The primary responsibilities encompass managing delivery personnel, ensuring adherence to regulations, and maintaining the safety and security of the delivery division.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervises daily operations and safety protocols for Delivery Associates, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures and efficient customer service.
  • Ensures Delivery Associates adhere to local, state, and federal regulations (i.e., DOT, OSHA) and maintains accurate electronic logs.
  • Manages labor hours and supplies within budgetary constraints.
  • Creates work schedules, including additional shifts as necessary.
  • Oversees the effective use of company resources to support the delivery department.
  • Coordinates necessary repairs with relevant departments.
  • Analyzes delivery functions and productivity metrics.
  • Proposes efficiency improvements and assists in implementing delivery modifications.
  • Trains and enforces company policies and procedures, including food safety and record-keeping.
  • Collaborates with Sales Management and Marketing Associates to address customer delivery issues.
  • Visits customer sites to resolve issues and evaluate delivery challenges.
  • Maintains positive associate relations through regular meetings.
  • Encourages open communication with associates by addressing questions and clarifying policies.
  • Monitors associate morale and engagement.
  • Coordinates with the Safety department for training and safety inspections.
  • Recommends disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Handles management functions including staff selection, development, and performance evaluations.
  • Performs duties of supervised associates and other related tasks as required.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education
  • High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred: 2 or 4-year degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience and/or training.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
  • Completion of a Sysco-approved defensive driving program.
  • HazMat certification preferred.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver License preferred.

Physical Demands

The physical demands for this position include:
  • Regular communication requirements.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and sitting; use of hands and arms; climbing or balancing.
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, or crawling.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 100 pounds and push/pull up to 350 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
