JOB SUMMARY

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of personnel involved in the shipping and receiving of products, components, and replacement parts. This role ensures the accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments by managing incoming and outgoing shipping activities. The supervisor will analyze shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other documentation to establish shipping priorities, work assignments, and methods necessary to meet operational schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision and Team Management
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and guidelines, maintaining a safe and organized work environment while collaborating with management to comply with regulatory standards.
  • Exhibit strong leadership and managerial skills in recruiting, training, motivating, and developing a high-performance team.
  • Conduct timely employee performance evaluations and address any performance-related issues.
  • Manage attendance and track hours for direct reports, including vacation and sick leave approvals.
  • Schedule and assign work, determining appropriate staffing levels to meet operational demands.
  • Oversee delivery schedules and preventive maintenance for the delivery fleet to ensure efficient operations.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures aimed at enhancing processes, equipment usage, and job performance to ensure timely customer delivery.
  • Lead initiatives focused on Environmental Health and Safety within the facility.
Reporting and Planning
  • Compile operational data to assist in preparing reports that highlight progress, trends, and recommendations.
  • Assist management in establishing cost planning to ensure operations remain within budget.
  • Develop and implement productivity improvement strategies to achieve set goals.
Quality and Inventory Management
  • Monitor logistics quality regarding facility and equipment maintenance, damage control, and inventory accuracy.
  • Direct staff to verify packaging, labeling, and product appearance, ensuring corrective actions are taken when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate inventory management systems using relevant software and physical inventory counts.
  • Oversee stock levels to ensure compliance with established parameters.
Inbound/Outbound Operations
  • Supervise the inbound processes for receiving, returns, and storage.
  • Oversee outbound processes for packing, picking, and shipping, collaborating on wave planning as needed.
  • Work with the team to resolve issues and make informed decisions impacting service and productivity.
Housekeeping and Other Duties
  • Ensure adherence to 5S principles (sort, straighten, shine, standardize, sustain) while promoting lean initiatives.
  • Attend meetings as required and perform additional duties as assigned.
Travel Requirements
  • Occasional travel may be required.
Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, and WMS.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to analyze information effectively and consistently.
  • Proficient in meeting deadlines and managing time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong report generation capabilities.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Commitment to high-quality standards and superior service.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
