Responsibilities

The BSA/AML Compliance Analyst plays a crucial role in the evaluation, investigation, reporting, and resolution of various activities, including but not limited to: money laundering, structuring, fraud, and other suspicious activities. This position is tasked with ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal standards, thereby safeguarding the interests and assets of the organization.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Review Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) for accuracy and completeness before submission.
  • Analyze account activities to identify and report suspicious transactions.
  • Conduct investigations into suspicious activities utilizing information from multiple sources, including surveillance footage.
  • Document findings and create SARs as necessary, including cases that do not result in a filing.
  • Evaluate alerts from various sources, including AML software and law enforcement requests.
  • Analyze transaction patterns and reports for signs of suspicious activity and perform necessary investigations.
  • Review customer accounts for potential reporting requirements following legal requests.
  • Conduct Customer Due Diligence and Enhanced Due Diligence reviews.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all reviews and investigations, ensuring professionalism and factual accuracy.
  • Respond to requests from financial institutions under applicable regulations.
  • Assist in regulatory audits and risk assessments related to BSA/AML compliance.
  • Provide training and support to compliance staff, including new analysts.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to policies and procedures to mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with various departments to address BSA/AML-related issues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field; Finance or Accounting preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in BSA/AML compliance within the banking or casino industry.
  • Advanced degrees or professional certifications are a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with SQL experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of casino operations, internal controls, and relevant regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High analytical ability with the capacity to work independently.
  • Detail-oriented with strong time management skills.

Work Environment:

  • The role may require standing, walking, and handling materials, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, often involving interactions with the public.
  • Effective communication in English is essential for fulfilling job responsibilities.
