Position Summary:The Compliance Analyst plays a vital role in collaboration with GFCC partners, focusing on the development and implementation of automated transaction monitoring protocols, reports, and processes aimed at identifying activities that may suggest criminal conduct. This role involves investigating potentially suspicious financial transactions and, when warranted, filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), which operates under the U.S. Department of the Treasury, and/or referring cases to internal compliance teams for global review and reporting.
Additionally, the Compliance Analyst manages risks associated with politically exposed individuals and entities listed on core sanctions and risk registers through regular screening processes. The role also entails oversight of risks related to improper payments that may indicate bribery, corruption, or other illicit activities by examining internal payments and expenditures.
The Compliance Analyst is essential in ensuring adherence to all relevant laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, while providing law enforcement with critical information for the investigation and prosecution of money laundering, terrorist financing, credit card fraud, identity theft, and other criminal activities.
Educational Requirements:A Bachelor's degree is preferred but not mandatory. We are particularly interested in college students in their third year or recent graduates.
Key Responsibilities:- Conducting sanctions and politically exposed persons screening using the Bridger enterprise screening tool.
- Performing enhanced due diligence research.
- Collaborating with various business lines and market compliance teams.
- Strong attention to detail in investigation, analysis, and documentation.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in computer and internet research.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
