Position Overview

Langan is seeking a Senior Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in executing multimedia environmental compliance and permitting initiatives, which include technical report composition, regulatory report preparation, permit application development, and on-site inspections. In this position, you will collaborate with industry leaders in a continuous learning atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage permits and compliance strategies for various environmental media, including air, wastewater, stormwater, waste management, spill prevention, and storage tank regulations;
  • Assist with air quality projects, focusing on emissions calculations, permit documentation, compliance with NESHAP/NSPS, annual reporting (Title V, GHG, etc.), emissions monitoring, and air modeling tasks;
  • Conduct comprehensive environmental compliance audits, gap analyses, inspections, and program evaluations;
  • Design and implement various monitoring and spill prevention plans/programs (SPCC, FRP, SWPPP, Hazardous Waste Contingency Plans, TOMP, Slug Control, etc.);
  • Prepare technical documentation including reports, plans/programs, permit applications, and other written materials;
  • Provide field support at client locations, including routine inspections, sample collection, and on-call assistance; and,
  • Perform additional field and office tasks as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Chemical, or related engineering discipline, Environmental Science, or a closely aligned field;
  • 3+ years of experience in environmental permitting and regulatory compliance, ideally within a consulting framework;
  • Professional certification such as FE/EIT/ASP is advantageous;
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational abilities;
  • Meticulous attention to detail with excellent analytical, judgment, and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and related software; experience with air modeling software is a plus; and,
  • Access to reliable transportation for remote job sites and a valid driver's license in good standing.
