Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Compliance Manager, the Compliance Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting all compliance-related initiatives. This position is responsible for organizing and maintaining compliance documentation, conducting audits, and generating reports. The Compliance Coordinator is expected to uphold a professional demeanor and demonstrate ethical conduct. Key responsibilities include:
Essential Job Functions:
- Coordinate the maintenance and reporting of Title 31 documentation as directed by management.
- Investigate potential breaches of internal policies and controls.
- Oversee the daily audit of documents produced by operational departments, ensuring adherence to the Internal Control System (ICS) and Title 31 regulations. Report any discrepancies to management.
- Occasionally trace a sample of potentially reportable items through transaction flows to verify compliance with Title 31.
- Ensure timely preparation and filing of Currency Transaction Reports (CTR) and Suspicious Activity Reports (SARC), including re-filing incomplete CTRs when additional information is available.
- Assist in coordinating the audit process with both internal and external auditors.
- Help prepare quarterly compliance reports and exceptions for review by the CTR Compliance Committee.
- In the absence of the manager, monitor daily sensitive key transactions.
- Collaborate with the manager to conduct quarterly audits of sensitive keys and their users.
- Monitor compliance with Title 31 and ICS requirements as directed by the manager.
- Work with the manager to ensure proper storage and retention of all sensitive documents through manual or computerized systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
A High School Diploma or GED is required. Candidates should have a minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience in computerized auditing or accounting, or a combination of education and experience in casino operations, as well as familiarity with STGC and Federal regulations related to Title 31.
- Successful candidates will possess knowledge of Tribal and Federal regulations, gaming activities, accounting practices, and overall casino operations.
- A working knowledge of ICS, Title 31, and FinCen Regulations is essential.
- Excellent time management skills are required.
- Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, are necessary.
- Experience with computer systems is preferred.
- Strong record-keeping abilities are essential.
- Ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines is crucial.
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Work Environment:
- Employees in this role are frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, and communicate effectively.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly.
- The work environment is fast-paced, often crowded, and can be noisy. Employees may be exposed to various environmental factors typical of a casino setting.
- Effective communication with guests in English is necessary for this position.
Closing:
The Tribal Council prioritizes Native American candidates in all employment practices. First preference is given to members of the Seminole Tribe who meet job requirements, followed by members of other federally recognized Native American Tribes.
As part of the employment process, final candidates will be required to obtain gaming licensure by completing a background check with Seminole Gaming Compliance and Regulations prior to receiving an offer. Background checks may include credit checks, criminal background checks, and drug screenings.
