Job Title: Chief Safety Officer

Staffing Solutions Organization LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Safety Officer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive worker safety and health program for the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC).

Job Summary

The Chief Safety Officer will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive safety program that meets regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conducting regular health and safety audits to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Providing training and education to staff on health and safety measures and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Chairing the Maine CDC Health and Safety Committee and coordinating with Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) Training and Exercise Coordinator.
  • Ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, CDC guidance, and other regulatory requirements.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in an occupational health and safety related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience with increasing responsibilities for safety.
  • Ability to establish working relationships with diverse groups.
  • Must pass appropriate background checks.
  • Safety related certification or eligibility for certification is preferred.
