Position Summary:

Kikiktagruk Inupiat Corporation is in search of a highly skilled Construction Manager who will fulfill the roles of Quality Control Manager, Site Safety and Health Officer, and Superintendent for federal construction projects. The responsibilities of the Quality Control Manager include establishing, executing, and overseeing a quality assurance program to guarantee that all tasks are conducted in alignment with project specifications and standards outlined in the Quality Control Plan.


Key Responsibilities:

Quality Control Duties:

  • Review and authorize all submissions, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Document all proposed deviations from the contract in writing.
  • Maintain and update the quality control system in accordance with federal regulations.
  • Implement and manage the Quality Control Plan approved by the client.
  • Conduct daily inspections to ensure adherence to project specifications.
  • Prepare material submittals and verification forms in compliance with project drawings.

Site Safety and Health Duties:

  • Oversee all safety-related activities, including confined space entry and fall protection.
  • Perform daily safety inspections and maintain a detailed log of findings and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety plans and procedures.
  • Develop a tracking system for safety deficiencies until resolved.
  • Ensure subcontractor adherence to safety protocols.
  • Formulate and assess safety policies to align with federal and state regulations.
  • Manage safety training and educational programs.

Superintendent Duties:

  • Supervise subcontractors and coordinate daily operations on-site.
  • Participate in project meetings and quality control discussions.
  • Maintain a constant presence on-site throughout the duration of the project.
  • Exhibit an unwavering commitment to safety practices.
  • Assist with additional responsibilities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Over 10 years of experience in the construction sector, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in developing and enforcing Quality Control and Safety programs.
  • Expertise in hazard identification and compliance with safety regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Comprehensive understanding of building codes and engineering principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with OSHA guidelines and safety practices.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Proficient in technology and software relevant to construction management.

Work Environment:

  • Work will be conducted in various construction settings, subject to changing weather conditions.
  • Travel between project sites may be required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to navigate uneven terrain and perform physical tasks as needed.
  • Capability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
