Position Summary:

Kikiktagruk Inupiat Corporation is in search of a skilled Construction Project Manager to oversee the successful and profitable execution of designated projects. This pivotal role involves leading project teams in various aspects of Federal general construction initiatives, including but not limited to initial estimates, scope and design development, subcontractor selection, safety management, scheduling, quality assurance, and financial performance within the Federal sector.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the project team to confirm pricing, labor productivity, subcontractor quotes, and quantities in project estimates.
  • Guide the team in establishing the project budget.
  • Direct the development and execution of the project performance plan.
  • Oversee the creation and adherence to the Project CPM schedule and short-interval planning schedules.
  • Ensure timely updates to the CPM schedule and maintain accurate short-interval planning schedules.
  • Manage project buyout and subcontractor risk assessment and engagement efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Provide guidance and support to the onsite management team to ensure efficient and budget-compliant self-performed work.
  • Facilitate team coordination regarding change order management.
  • Engage with project teams, architects, engineers, key subcontractors, and clients on design-build, design-development, value-engineering, and preconstruction matters.
  • Generate Project Estimates utilizing RS Means/4 Clicks and maintain precise Cost to Date, Estimate Cost to Complete, and Estimated Cost at Completion reports.
  • Monitor and report on project progress concerning schedule and budget.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements, building codes, safety inspections, city guidelines, and local and state regulations.
  • Manage client and end-user relationships at the project level.
  • Guarantee that projects are finalized on schedule and within budget.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, construction science, engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant Project Management experience in the Federal construction industry.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in reading Federal contract documents and adhering to requirements.
  • Familiarity with small business and 8(a) compliance standards.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership and discernment skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple teams and projects simultaneously.
  • Capability to analyze, adapt, strategize, and resolve challenges effectively.
  • Experience in adhering to strict budgets.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the construction industry and federal market.
  • Ability to interpret complex project blueprints and specifications across various disciplines.
  • Preferred experience with industry software (Excel, Word, MS Project, Procore, SmartBid, Timberline, Sage, etc.).

Licenses and Certifications:

  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • OSHA 30 certification and completion of the ARC First Responder Course is preferred or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Control Management certification is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain background clearance for access to military and other federal sites.
  • Must possess an unwavering commitment to safety.

Work Environment:

  • Job duties will be performed in an office setting, with site visits to construction locations that may involve various weather conditions.
  • May require travel between project sites that can be distanced from each other or from the assigned office location.

Physical Demands:

  • The physical demands necessary to perform the essential functions of this role include:
    • Ability to navigate varied terrain and surfaces.
    • Regularly sitting, standing, walking, talking, and hearing.
    • Frequent use of hands for handling or feeling.
    • Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, or reaching.
    • Frequent lifting/moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting/moving up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be physically capable of walking, climbing ladders, and fulfilling other requirements for project inspections and assessments.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
