Job Summary

Kaufman Dolowich LLP is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to provide administrative support to our attorneys. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in a similar role and possess excellent writing and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, edit, and proofread various documents, including pleadings, correspondence, and court filings.
  • Manage and assist with complex document production, including creating tables of contents and authorities.
  • Draft simple pleadings and correspondence, and prepare court filings and e-filings.
  • Communicate with court staff and handle outgoing and incoming mail and FedEx for assigned attorneys.
  • Maintain calendars for assigned attorneys and prepare trial memoranda and calendar appearances and deadlines.
  • Schedule local and out-of-town depositions and coordinate mediation dates.
  • Scan and upload documents to Neos and assist with trial preparation.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the firm and office operations.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
  • Teamwork-oriented and proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and principles.
  • Ability to analyze legal documents and ensure accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing excellent customer service.

Compensation
The total annual compensation range for this position is $50,000 - $75,000, depending on skills, experience, location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. Kaufman Dolowich LLP is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all qualified candidates.
