Position Overview

SAIC is seeking a skilled Security Engineer to deliver specialized technical expertise across all facets of Information Security. This role will collaborate closely with the client team and various IT departments to ensure that security measures are integrated from the outset of IT system development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct incident response, manage system access approvals, review audit logs, oversee Configuration Control Board activities, and provide daily consultations on a broad spectrum of security matters.
  • Identify and understand the necessary groups or processes to meet security requirements.
  • Document, report, and investigate all incidents related to IT security; assist in the formulation and execution of corrective actions.
  • Implement protective and corrective strategies upon the discovery of incidents or vulnerabilities; ensure adherence to Information Security protocols.
  • Verify that Information Assurance hardware and software align with security configuration standards.
  • Perform Operations & Sustainment (O&S) tasks for the network security framework, including firewalls, web gateways, mail gateways, intrusion detection systems, load balancers, and performance monitoring tools.
  • Carry out maintenance and advanced configuration of security equipment to safeguard the network against emerging cyber threats.
  • Analyze forensic traffic and logs to diagnose issues or respond to alerts from analysts.
  • Support integration testing and execute remediation processes to implement technical solutions addressing vulnerabilities identified through ACAS security scans.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills:

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with a current polygraph is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; significant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • At least 5 years of experience in data security administration.
  • Proficiency in network routing and VLAN technology.
  • Possession of IAM I certification in accordance with DOD 8570.1M; must achieve IAM II or III certification within 6 months.
  • Familiarity with ICD 503 and Cloud Infrastructure/AWS solutions.
  • Understanding of the government Risk Management Framework (RMF) and systems security requirements enforcement.
  • Experience with security tools such as EVSS, ACAS, HBSS, Tenable, RedSeal, Splunk, and EMET.
  • Ability to conduct technical decomposition, categorization, remediation, and lien resolution.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Preferred experience in all aspects of the Certification and Accreditation process.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • CISSP certification or equivalent (CAP, GSLC, CISM).
  • Experience in system administration.
  • Background in network engineering.
  • Experience in system design and development.
