Position Summary:

The role involves strategizing, executing, and overseeing the maintenance and operational integrity of machinery and facilities at DOERFER CORPORATION. The individual will serve as the primary liaison for all construction initiatives and will spearhead safety programs, employing engineering principles and advanced technologies to mitigate or rectify unsafe working conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Stay informed about current corporate policies, regulations, and industrial processes.
  2. Act as the representative for DOERFER CORPORATION in all matters related to safety and facilities maintenance.
  3. Work collaboratively with Operations, HR, and Quality teams to establish and uphold safety protocols.
  4. Partner with Operations and Quality to create and maintain preventative maintenance strategies.
  5. Conduct safety evaluations on equipment and issue safety documentation to clients based on findings.
  6. Assist the Corporate Human Resources Department with data collection, reporting, and safety assessments, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and handling Workers' Compensation claims.
  7. Propose safety enhancements to minimize employee exposure to workplace hazards.
  8. Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify potential risks and ensure adherence to safety regulations.
  9. Oversee the maintenance of buildings and grounds, including scheduling repairs and safety inspections.
  10. Manage budgets and negotiate with external vendors for necessary supplies and services.
  11. Install or oversee the installation of safety devices on machinery.
  12. Investigate workplace incidents to determine causes and recommend preventive measures.
  13. Review construction plans to ensure compliance with safety and facility standards.
  14. Document findings from safety inspections and environmental assessments.
  15. Conduct interviews with employees to gather insights on workplace conditions and incidents.
  16. Evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions taken for safety violations.
  17. Review and assess employee safety programs for adequacy.
  18. Conduct testing for air quality, noise, and other environmental factors to ensure compliance with health regulations.
  19. Facilitate training for employees on safety laws, hazardous conditions, and proper use of safety equipment.
  20. Maintain relationships with external organizations, such as emergency services, to ensure effective emergency response.
  21. Develop and update safety policies in accordance with OSHA and industry standards.
  22. Analyze statistical data related to workplace incidents and occupational health.
  23. Conduct research in industrial hygiene as needed.
  24. May provide direction and training to team members across various classifications.
  25. Engage effectively with management and staff across all departments.
  26. Participate in specialized training as required.
  27. Maintain comprehensive records in an auditable manner.
  28. Be prepared to participate in both internal and external audits.
  29. Work additional hours as necessary.
  30. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent experience.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in equipment maintenance within an industrial environment.

Preferred:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  2. Completion of 30-Hour OSHA Training.
