The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing processes, maintaining high-quality products, and meeting production targets. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to manage a team of approximately 30 employees.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement production plans to meet business objectives, ensuring timely deployment of personnel and resources.
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and environmental regulations.
- Lead a team of production staff, providing coaching, training, and development opportunities to enhance their skills and competencies.
- Monitor and control production processes, identifying and addressing any quality or safety issues promptly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality, engineering, and maintenance, to ensure seamless operations and continuous improvement.
- Manage inventory, supplies, and equipment, ensuring optimal utilization and minimizing waste.
- Develop and implement action plans to address root causes of failures and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of production data, including quality metrics, production volumes, and inventory levels.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as manufacturing, engineering, or business, and 2 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- OR 5 years of supervisory/management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- OR 2 years in a leadership role in the United States Military.
- Experience in food processing or packaging.
- Experience in Supply Chain and/or Inventory Control.
- Experience in Quality and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMPs) in a food processing environment.
- 1 year of experience in Continuous Improvement environment (Lean manufacturing or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) preferred).
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a safe working environment through proper housekeeping and safety practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Intermediate level computer skills in Microsoft Office.
- Results Focus - Set ambitious objectives and motivate the team to achieve them.
- Lead People - Communicate what needs to be done to gain the understanding and commitment of the team.
- Practice What You Preach - Be a role model for the team and consistently act according to the company's principles and values.
