Job Overview:


Reporting to the Director of Individual Giving (DIG), the Patron Engagement Coordinator plays a crucial role in maintaining the vitality of the Getty Patron Program, ensuring a fulfilling experience for Getty's primary support group through a consistently donor-centric approach.

This role involves collaborating with colleagues within Getty's Development department and across the institution to establish, enhance, and implement best practices that effectively promote the growth and stewardship of Getty's Patron community, particularly focusing on an expanding group of $1,000 "Friend" level Patrons who contribute annually or monthly.


Key Responsibilities:

Donor Acquisition, Renewal, and Stewardship:


Under the guidance of the Director of Individual Giving (DIG), the Patron Engagement Coordinator works with team members to draft renewal communications that align with strategic objectives, ensuring timely distribution of a comprehensive range of renewal appeals through various channels, including mail, email, and personal outreach.


Acts as the Patron Team specialist on monthly-recurring contributions by researching and sharing industry-wide trends, innovative strategies, and relevant tools/technology options.


Monitors Patron monthly giving outcomes and retention, collaborating with colleagues to streamline online giving processes, while establishing tracking mechanisms that inform ongoing strategies for this distinct group of supporters.


Plays a vital role during Patron acquisition campaigns by accurately preparing mailing lists and suppressions, and executing acquisition appeals for distribution, working closely with the Senior Patron Program Manager and DIG.

Engages with the Patron Team to cultivate new Patron prospects at both in-person and virtual events.


Proactively identifies "Friend" level annual and recurring donors who may be prospects for upgraded Patron memberships or other giving opportunities through personal communication and/or research.

Collaborates with colleagues to optimize processes and technology platforms to support Patron team objectives and analysis.

Implements key Patron stewardship digital communications, including the Patron newsletter.

Tracks key performance indicators related to stewardship communications.

Coordinates stewardship and outreach to "Friend" level Patron segments as necessary to support team objectives.

Updates Patron benefits across digital and print content as needed.

Events:


Contributes significantly to the preparation of Patron events, keeping team members informed throughout the process, and collaborates with the DIG to support communications related to Patron travel opportunities.


Works alongside the Senior Patron Program Manager and DIG to ensure the successful execution of Patron Program and other events.

Participates in day-of event activities, including logistical support and registration/check-ins.

Donor Support:


In collaboration with the Senior Patron Program Manager, provides prompt responses to inquiries from donors and donor prospects, either directly or by directing them to the appropriate contact.


Ensures fulfillment of all Patron member benefits, including parking and reservation requests, in collaboration with Patron team members.


Data Management and Analysis:
Works with database team colleagues to ensure accurate recording of solicitation and gift data.

Regularly reviews recurring Patron giving trends and metrics, providing recommendations based on findings.


Enhances the effectiveness of Patron renewal, acquisition, stewardship, and cultivation outreach by compiling, monitoring, and sharing key performance indicators, collaborating with the Patron Team on process/message revisions or enhancements as necessary based on those results.

Tracks progress towards Patron appeal and annual objectives.

Creates and contributes to reports for senior management.


Supports the Patron team's use of a Raiser's Edge-compatible email platform, playing a key role in any platform enhancements or upgrades to support Patron team goals.

Generates lists, queries, and reports from Raiser's Edge as required.

Updates individual donor information in Raiser's Edge.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree

2-3 years of progressive fundraising and development management experience or equivalent experience in a marketing and communication environment; or

2-3 years of experience managing Raiser's Edge or other Development-related software

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency in Raiser's Edge (or similar) is a plus; Microsoft Excel and Word proficiency is required.

Knowledge of graphic design and design software is advantageous [Adobe, PowerPoint, etc.].


Experience with recurring giving is beneficial; a thoughtful and proactive approach to learning and implementing recurring giving best practices is essential.

Positive attitude and strong work ethic; service-oriented and donor-centric approach.

Excellent organizational and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

Self-starter who takes initiative; capable of working well both in a team and independently.

Ability to work efficiently, multitask, meet deadlines, and achieve objectives.


Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to engage with a diverse range of individuals.

Exceptional writing and effective communication skills are crucial, with the ability to proofread documents.

Stays informed about leading-edge trends and strategies, particularly in mid-level annual and recurring giving within the arts sector.

Actively contributes to an environment of continuous process improvement to support Patron Program objectives.
