About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Sous Chef to join our team at Gecko Hospitality. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and elevating our culinary standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Culinary Leadership: Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the kitchen and overall operations.
  • Menu Development: Oversee and actively participate in menu development and engineering to deliver innovative and exceptional dining experiences to our guests.
  • Team Management: Coach and mentor Sous Chefs and other team members, setting high-detail coaching standards and demanding excellence from the entire kitchen staff.
  • Product Cost Management: Identify and address product cost challenges, ensuring the maintenance of high-quality standards while optimizing kitchen efficiency.
  • Guest Interactions: Engage actively in Guest interactions, demonstrating a genuine passion for culinary artistry and creating unforgettable dining experiences.
Requirements
  • Culinary Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a Senior Sous Chef role within a chef-driven/fine dining restaurant environment.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring a team of Sous Chefs, with a relentless commitment to maintaining kitchen quality and standards.
  • Problem-Solving: Proficient in troubleshooting and managing product cost challenges while creating innovative and appealing menus.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent organizational and communication skills, capable of handling multiple tasks and delegating effectively.
  • Financial Acumen: Proven ability to drive financial results while maintaining uncompromising culinary excellence.
