About the Role

The Executive Director of Finance will provide strategic leadership and direction to the finance and business offices at Ivy Tech Community College. This role will oversee all financial and accounting activities, ensuring compliance with guidelines set forth by the Chief Financial Officer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Leadership: Provide supervision and leadership to the finance and business offices, ensuring effective financial management and planning.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Assist the Chief Operating Officer in planning, preparing, and administering annual operating, capital, utilities, and lease budgets.
  • Financial Reporting: Provide monthly campus financial analysis and interpretation, maintaining necessary budgetary controls.
  • Financial Integrity: Ensure the integrity of all financial, accounts receivable, and fixed asset information for the campus.
  • Procurement: Oversee procurement processes at the campus level, ensuring compliance with the College's purchasing policy.
  • Grant Management: Oversee third-party contracts/grants from government agencies in conjunction with System Office Sponsored Program Accounting staff.
  • Special Projects: Manage and coordinate special projects as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer.
  • Audit and Compliance: Responsible for campus audit functions, including periodic self-audits of campus procedures and coordination with System Office internal audit.
  • Customer Service: Demonstrate strong customer service through positive attitude and approachability, adaptability, strong problem-solving, and a desire to identify and support student success.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required. Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of related experience is required.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication skills, and the ability to facilitate continuous improvement and effective change management.
  • Team Management: Must demonstrate effective team building and management and customer service skills.
