Position Overview: Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Accounting to join their team. As the Director, you will play a vital role in managing the financial operations of their organization, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources while upholding their mission and values. This position offers the unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a faith-based, non-profit setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management: Oversee all financial aspects of the organization, including budgeting, financial planning, and reporting.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Supervise and mentor a team of direct reports, providing guidance and support in their professional growth.
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance: Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
  • Financial Analysis and Planning: Prepare financial statements, reports, and forecasts for the Board of Directors and other stakeholders.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective financial management across the organization.
  • Financial Policy and Procedure Development: Implement and improve financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Cash Flow and Investment Management: Manage cash flow and investment strategies to maximize financial stability.
  • Annual Audit and Compliance: Lead the annual audit process and work with external auditors.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Strategic Planning and Financial Insights: Participate in strategic planning and provide financial insights to support decision-making.
  • Fundraising Support: Support fundraising efforts by providing financial data and analysis to potential donors and grantors.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 9+ years of experience in financial management and accounting.
  • Non-Profit Experience: Non-profit experience is a plus.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Leadership and Team Management Skills: Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
