Position Overview

The Inventory Control Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of our stockroom operations. As a proactive and detail-oriented individual, you will collaborate with sales personnel and management to ensure the sales floor is consistently replenished. You will oversee the stockroom, managing all incoming and outgoing shipments promptly while safeguarding our inventory and enhancing the presentation of merchandise on the sales floor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the unloading of delivery shipments and verify the accuracy of carton counts against delivery receipts.
  • Ensure packing lists are meticulously checked against the contents of shipping cartons and report any discrepancies to management.
  • Oversee the placement of stock in both the backroom and on the sales floor.
  • Maintain an organized storage area by adhering to design principles and suggesting improvements as necessary.
  • Ensure precise inventory management by confirming that all merchandise is correctly barcoded and categorized by gender, brand, style, and size.
  • Monitor the area for potential shrinkage and security issues, promptly notifying management of any concerns.
  • Maintain a safe and tidy environment by upholding safety standards, including proper ladder usage and disposal of waste materials.
  • Guide stock personnel by assigning daily tasks, providing clear instructions, and reviewing completed work to ensure adherence to company standards.
  • Exhibit reliability and punctuality by fulfilling assigned shifts and responsibilities in a timely manner.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as required by management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all necessary documentation.
  • Capability to access all areas of the warehouse freely.
  • Ability to handle merchandise weighing up to specified limits throughout the stock area.
  • Willingness to work varied hours and days as needed, including weekends.

Restrictions:

  • Prohibition on using non-compliant ladders or engaging in activities that are not ergonomically sound.
  • Limitations on excessive lifting, with a maximum weight threshold.
  • Restrictions on manual movement of multiple boxes without appropriate equipment.
  • Prohibition on unloading freight from trucks.
