Position Overview

The role of the Stockroom Coordinator is vital in ensuring that our inventory is managed efficiently and effectively. As a key player in the operations of our footwear outlet, you will collaborate closely with sales staff and management to maintain a well-organized sales floor. Your attention to detail and proactive approach will help safeguard our inventory and enhance the shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties: You will be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the smooth operation of our stockroom and sales area:

  • Oversee the unloading of shipments from delivery vehicles and confirm the accuracy of received items against shipping documents.
  • Ensure that packing lists are thoroughly checked against the contents of each shipment, promptly reporting any discrepancies to management.
  • Manage the placement of stock in both the backroom and on the sales floor to optimize space and accessibility.
  • Maintain an organized storage area by adhering to design principles and suggesting improvements where necessary.
  • Implement accurate inventory control measures by ensuring all merchandise is properly barcoded and categorized by gender, brand, style, and size.
  • Monitor the stockroom for signs of shrinkage and potential security issues, alerting management as needed.
  • Uphold safety standards by maintaining a clean work environment, properly securing ladders, and disposing of waste materials responsibly.
  • Guide stock personnel by assigning daily tasks, providing instructions, and reviewing completed work to ensure standards are met.
  • Demonstrate reliability through punctuality and timely completion of assigned responsibilities.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, and perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
Physical Requirements

Essential Physical Abilities: The following physical capabilities are necessary for this position:

  • Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete documentation.
  • Capability to access all areas of the stockroom freely.
  • Ability to handle merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, as required by business needs.
Work Restrictions

Limitations on Duties: Certain activities are restricted to ensure safety and compliance:

  • Use of ladders that do not meet OSHA standards or exceed three rungs in height.
  • Excessive lifting beyond the specified weight limit.
  • Manual handling of multiple boxes without appropriate equipment.
  • Unloading freight from delivery trucks.
