Staff Development Coordinator/Infection Preventionist RN

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Staff Development Coordinator/Infection Preventionist. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for designing and implementing educational programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of our nursing team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver educational programs on infection prevention and control, as well as other topics relevant to long-term care nursing.
  • Participate in the evaluation and improvement of our nursing staff's performance, including attendance records and performance observations.
  • Provide general facility orientation to new employees and ongoing in-service education to ensure our nursing staff has the skills and knowledge needed to provide high-quality care.
  • Plan and implement a monthly and annual schedule of educational programs to meet the needs of our nursing staff.
  • Ensure that Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and State Tested Nursing Assistants (STNAs) meet the annual 12-hour in-service requirement.
  • Actively participate in quality assurance and report concerns to your supervisor.
  • Monitor healthcare-associated infections and assess infection prevention problems to make recommendations for corrective action.
  • Initiate, review, and revise infection prevention policies and procedures, conduct outbreak investigations, and initiate control measures as needed.
Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of experience in a long-term care setting, preferably as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state.
  • CPR certification or acceptable exemption required.
