Senior Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at SHP. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing highly efficient and sustainable electrical systems for various types of clients, including educational, institutional, and commercial office facilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage client and consultant relationships to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Oversee production work of the engineering team to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Direct, inspire, mentor, coach, and develop the electrical engineering team to achieve their full potential.
- Establish energy goals for project designs and long-term operation to minimize environmental impact.
- Conduct daylight modeling and analyses to optimize overall building design and reduce energy consumption.
- Design advanced lighting control systems to enhance occupant comfort and reduce energy waste.
- Develop power, lighting, fire alarm, electrical service, security, and technology systems for various types of clients.
- Perform voltage drop and fault current analyses to ensure safe and efficient electrical systems.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to define and communicate sustainable design options for our project teams and clients.
- Develop design criteria that defines system requirements and ensures compliance with industry standards.
- Develop conceptual design and preliminary design documents, including calculations related to sizing and selecting of electrical systems.
- Develop final design/construction/bid documents, including specifications, sequences of operation, and other necessary documentation.
- Assist the Practice Leader in oversight and management of the electrical team.
- Support work in the field pertaining to facility assessments and energy audits.
- Develop strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- Minimum 8-10 years' experience designing building electrical systems and managing design/production teams.
- PE license required with ability to become licensed in multiple states.
- Strong computer skills using Revit and/or BIM is desirable.
- Previous experience with an architecture or engineering firm preferred.
- Strong preference for candidates currently residing in the Cincinnati - Northern Kentucky Metropolitan area.
