Join Our Team of Dedicated Primary Care Physicians Serving Veterans

The Department of Veteran Affairs is actively seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Family Practice or Internal Medicine Physician to enhance our healthcare team.

Available Positions: Opportunities are available at our Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs).

As a Primary Care Physician, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver exceptional medical services to veterans. You will be expected to exhibit advanced competencies in evaluating both the physical and mental health of patients. Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough patient assessments, taking health histories, performing physical examinations, and providing patient education.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Documenting patient observations, assessments, and any changes in their condition.
  • Collaborating with fellow healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care outcomes.
  • Providing comprehensive care to patients with diverse physical and behavioral health challenges.
  • Maintaining compliance with qualification standards and functional statements of your assigned role.

As a Primary Care Physician, you will be responsible for all aspects of patient care, including:

  • Making referrals to specialists as necessary.
  • Ordering and/or performing medical procedures.
  • Prescribing and monitoring medications.
  • Addressing acute patient needs effectively.

Our facility emphasizes the importance of cost-effective care delivery while striving to meet or exceed established quality standards.

We utilize a comprehensive electronic medical record system and are committed to a patient-centered medical home model. You will manage a panel of patients, ensuring continuity of care.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Compensation: Salary up to $243,000 annually

A recruitment or relocation incentive may be available for highly qualified candidates.

Selected candidates may also be eligible for student loan repayment through the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), subject to fund availability.

Qualifications:

Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen (non-citizens may be considered when qualified candidates are not available).

Licensure: Must hold a current, unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.

Education: Must possess a Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.

Physical Standards: All applicants must meet the established physical requirements for this position.
