Join Our Team of Dedicated Primary Care Physicians Serving Veterans

The Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Family Practice/Internal Medicine Physician to enhance our healthcare team.

Locations: Opportunities available at Community Based Outpatient Clinics.

As a Primary Care Physician, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver comprehensive medical services to veterans. Your role will involve advanced competencies in evaluating both the physical and mental health of patients, ensuring thorough patient assessments, health histories, physical examinations, and educational support.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Documenting patient observations, assessments, and any changes in condition.
  • Collaborating with healthcare team members to promote positive patient outcomes.
  • Providing a full spectrum of care for patients with diverse medical and behavioral health issues.
  • Maintaining compliance with qualification standards and functional statements of your assigned role.

As a Primary Care Physician, you will oversee all aspects of patient care, including referrals to specialists, ordering and performing necessary procedures, and managing medications. You will be accountable for delivering cost-effective care while meeting established quality standards.

Our healthcare system utilizes a comprehensive electronic medical record system and is committed to a patient-centered medical home model. You will be assigned a panel of patients to manage.

Work Schedule: Standard hours, Monday through Friday.

Compensation: Competitive salary structure with potential for recruitment/relocation incentives for qualified candidates.

Qualifications:

  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen (non-citizens may be considered in certain circumstances).
  • Licensure: Must hold a current, unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
  • Education: A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • Physical Standards: All applicants must meet established physical requirements for this position.
