**Job Title:** Animal Care Technician
**Job Summary:** The Foundation for Atlanta Veterans Education and Research, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Animal Care Technician to join our team. As an Animal Care Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the humane care and treatment of laboratory animals.
Key Responsibilities- Perform basic husbandry duties, including cleaning and sanitizing caging and accessory equipment, and monitoring and maintaining inventory and stock for assigned areas.
- Sanitize and decontaminate work areas, and perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on cage washers and autoclaves.
- Regularly observe animals and provide husbandry, reporting abnormalities to the Supervisor and/or Veterinarian.
- Administer treatments as directed, and perform accurate data collection and reporting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with animal care, facility, and cage wash operations is helpful but not required.
- Animal care background and/or experience as an Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician is preferred, but not required.
- AALAS certification is preferred, but not required.
