The Department of Veteran Affairs is actively seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Family Practice/Internal Medicine Physician to enhance our healthcare services.

Location: Positions available at various Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs).

As a Primary Care Physician, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver comprehensive medical care to veterans. Your role will involve assessing both the physical and psychological well-being of patients, ensuring thorough patient evaluations, health histories, physical examinations, and educational support.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Documenting patient observations, assessments, and any changes in condition.
  • Working closely with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Providing a full spectrum of care for patients with diverse health issues.
  • Maintaining compliance with qualification standards and functional statements.

As a Primary Care Physician, you will oversee all aspects of patient care, including referrals to specialists, managing medications, and addressing acute patient needs. You will be accountable for delivering cost-effective care while adhering to established quality standards.

Our healthcare system utilizes a comprehensive electronic medical record system and is committed to a patient-centered medical home model, assigning you a panel of patients to manage.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Compensation: Salary potential up to $243,000 annually

A recruitment or relocation incentive may be available for exceptional candidates.

Selected candidates may qualify for student loan repayment through the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), subject to funding availability.

Essential Qualifications:

Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen (non-citizens may be considered if qualified candidates are unavailable).

Licensure: Must hold a current, unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.

Education: Must possess a Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an accredited institution recognized by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs.

Physical Standards: All applicants must meet the established physical requirements for this role.
