Position Overview

Emory at Flat Shoals Primary Care is on the lookout for a skilled and passionate Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to enhance our Primary Care team. This role is based in our Decatur clinic, where our APPs prioritize a collaborative approach to patient care, ensuring that achieving health objectives is at the forefront of our mission.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of dedicated experience in Primary Care as either a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. Experience in managing a patient panel and operating an independent clinic is essential for this position.

As part of the Emory Healthcare integrated academic health care system, our Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners play a vital role. Here are some key benefits of joining our team:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the assessment and treatment of patients.
  • Document care delivery in patient medical records.
  • Conduct patient interviews and record medical histories, psychosocial backgrounds, health statuses, and potential medical issues.
  • Perform physical examinations and specialized diagnostic or therapeutic procedures under physician supervision, including cast application and removal, wound suturing, and dressing changes.
  • Support physicians in diagnosing medical conditions, formulating care plans, and prescribing treatments.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current licensure as an advanced practice nurse in Georgia and certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent, or certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Appropriate licensure in Georgia.
  • At least one year of direct experience in high-acuity clinical specialties may be required.
  • American Heart Association BLS and Healthcare Provider certifications are mandatory; ACLS may be required in certain areas.
