Job Overview

The Entrance Attendant Leader operates in the capacity of an Entrance Attendant while also overseeing scheduling, staffing, issue resolution, and training initiatives. This role is pivotal in managing traffic flow and providing assistance at the hospital entrances. Responsibilities include aiding patients with wheelchairs and scooters, as well as guiding them and their families to their intended destinations.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Supervisor/Manager to manage team schedules and coverage. Participate in the recruitment process as necessary. Provide guidance and support to the team in the absence of the Supervisor/Manager. Facilitate training for all new members of the Entrance Team. Create a positive first impression for all visitors by offering a warm and friendly greeting.

a. Assist with hospital navigation for patients and visitors.

b. Address information needs of patients, families, and guests, including directing them to appropriate hospital resources for problem resolution.

c. Ensure a clean and organized entrance area, both inside and outside.

d. Uphold professionalism and diplomacy consistently, adhering to departmental standards of conduct. Manage service recovery and conflict resolution for dissatisfied guests. Collaborate with Service Excellence to ensure positive outcomes and address customer needs effectively. Provide assistance to patients and families entering and exiting their vehicles at the hospital entrances as required. Support Lost and Found services as necessary. Maintain effective traffic management at entrances to prevent congestion and deter illegal parking. Coordinate with Security and Valet teams as needed. Assist with transportation needs, including cab and bus vouchers. Employ effective communication skills to address specific age, cultural, and developmental requirements.

Qualifications

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of department-specific training with proven competence. Demonstrated experience in leadership roles and exceptional interpersonal skills.

Preferred

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC.
