The Business Development Manager is a key member of the DAVIS Construction team, responsible for driving business growth and expansion through strategic relationship-building and opportunity identification.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and engage with potential clients and decision-makers through targeted networking, cold calling, and marketing efforts.
- Create new connections with end-users, developers, clients, and industry stakeholders, fostering relationships to generate viable opportunities for DAVIS.
- Manage the customer relationship management database (CRM) and serve as a resource for colleagues.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to review internal business plans and strategize growth initiatives.
- Develop sales presentations for potential clients and represent the company in industry-led organizations.
- Support market leaders in implementing and improving their business development plans.
- Five to seven years of experience in business development, sales, customer relationships, or construction operations, with at least three years in the Architecture, Engineering, or Construction (AEC) industry.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment, demonstrating initiative and taking on responsibility.
- Decision-making, research, and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to attend evening networking and client engagement events.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Minimum of three years' experience in Business Development with a focus on either Healthcare or Higher Education in the AEC Industry.
- Experience with a CRM software, such as Salesforce or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, economics, sales management, construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Safety: Consistently work within DAVIS safety standards, promoting safety as a priority with coworkers, subcontractors, and external clients.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively within the team and across the organization, promoting a team atmosphere and culture, and maintaining a positive, can-do attitude.
- Commitment to Quality: Apply DAVIS standards to produce high-quality work on a consistent basis, demonstrating excellence in service, and building and maintaining integrity as a core function of the job and relationships with others.
- Champions DAVIS Business: Consistently market DAVIS business within the scope of the job, actively seeking and/or supporting new business opportunities, and building relationships and encouraging others to do the same.
