Business Development Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Business Development Specialist to drive growth and expansion for Civil Agents. This exciting opportunity involves developing and maintaining relationships with municipalities to increase our roster of serviced areas. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting market research to identify potential municipalities for our services
- Developing and maintaining client relationships to drive sales and growth
- Collaborating with management to create mutually beneficial proposals
- Gathering and analyzing customer and competitor data to inform sales strategies
- Presenting to prospective clients and internal executives to drive business growth
- Negotiating contract terms and communicating with stakeholders
- Tracking and reporting on sales pipeline progress through Hubspot
- Conducting ongoing market research to stay ahead of the competition
Required skills include:
- Professional experience in the Waste and Recycling Industry
- Demonstrated ability in business-to-business sales or fundraising
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with project management methodologies
- Familiarity with the recycling industry, including processes, challenges, and opportunities
- Problem-solving skills to propose mutually beneficial solutions
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
Compensation includes $13 per hour, 4-8 hours per week, plus 21% commission based on contract price (excluding set-up fees). A bonus of $500 per contract is offered when 3 or more contracts are initiated within a 3-month period.
