Breast Surgical Oncology Advanced Practice Provider Role

Job Summary:

Rush University Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Breast Surgical Oncology Advanced Practice Provider to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in breast surgical oncology and excellent clinical skills. The APP will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care. The role will involve a mix of clinical and administrative responsibilities, including patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning. The APP will also be responsible for educating patients and families about their conditions and treatment options.

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab results and imaging studies
Prescribe medications and treatments, including non-pharmacologic interventions
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
Educate patients and families about their conditions and treatment options
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes

Requirements:

Current State of Illinois Physician Assistant Licensure
Current Certification from National Certification Commission for Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Degree from an ARC-PA (or predecessor) accredited PA Program
Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) Licensure
Current Nurse Practitioner Certification from a national certifying organization
Master's or Doctorate degree in nursing
BLS certification
Strong clinical skills and experience in breast surgical oncology
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team
