Job Title: Breast Surgical Oncology Advanced Practice Provider

Rush University Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Department of Surgery, specifically in the area of Breast Surgical Oncology.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position working on a five-day, eight-hour schedule with no nights or weekends. The APP will provide outpatient coverage at Rush University Medical Center and its satellite locations, working alongside three physicians and one other APP.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive or episodic health assessments and develop patient care plans
  • Order and interpret tests, treatments, and therapies within the scope of practice
  • Prescribe medications, including controlled substances to the extent delegated
  • Order, interpret, and perform laboratory and other diagnostic tests and procedures
  • Provide clear, concise, and accurate information in the electronic medical record
  • Initiate and perform consultations in accordance with Rush rules and regulations
  • Make appropriate referrals to other healthcare professionals and/or agencies
  • Provide direct patient care in assigned areas, which may be in a hospital or ambulatory setting
Requirements:
  • Current State of Illinois Physician Assistant Licensure
  • Current Certification from National Certification Commission for Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Degree from an ARC-PA (or predecessor) accredited PA Program
  • Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) Licensure
  • Current Nurse Practitioner Certification from a national certifying organization
  • Master's or Doctorate degree in nursing
  • BLS certification
  • Demonstrates competency in all areas of APP practice
