Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Stability Direct. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of duties in preparing patients for imaging of particular organs to furnish diagnostic information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate various nuclear medicine equipment to produce diagnostic results and measure therapeutic radioactive materials in specific body areas.
  • Perform all nuclear medicine scanning procedures as outlined in the nuclear medicine procedure manual.
  • Monitor and record all radioactive materials received in the department for leakage or damage.
  • Maintain and document all records as required by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP).
  • Prepare radioactive doses and materials for daily patient administration.
  • Maintain quality control procedures on all equipment.
  • Operate all nuclear imaging equipment and ancillary equipment thoroughly and with competence.
  • Assist physicians in performing procedures and computer enhancing of images.
  • Consult with patients to obtain a complete clinical history and gather pertinent clinical data.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities set forth by administrative staff.
  • Review patient charts for proper exam of physician's orders.
  • Schedule cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
  • Protect self and patients from injury and unnecessary radiation through direct visual observation.
  • Differentiate anatomical abnormalities and notify radiologists.
  • Clinically instruct students rotating through nuclear medicine.
  • Perform all computer processing and imaging to ensure quality enhancement.
  • Troubleshoot any problems that occur with equipment before calling for service.
  • Participate in on-call rotation in accordance with the needs of the department.
  • Rotate to all shifts as needed.
  • Assist and transport patients in emergency situations to designated areas.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved nuclear medicine program.
  • Training and experience in radiation safety and protection.
  • Knowledge of nuclear medicine instrumentation, in-vivo and in-vitro procedures, computer programming, and radiation safety.
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification or NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board) certification.
  • Possess current NJDEP licenses in nuclear medicine and limited CT fusion.
