Purchasing Agent Job Description

PSC Industries is seeking a skilled Purchasing Agent to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for researching and sourcing materials and components to support our business growth.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best quality, price, and delivery terms.
  • Manage our supplier base to ensure compliance with our quality and delivery standards.
  • Identify new suppliers and negotiate supply agreements, including discount structures and volume rebates.
  • Work with our inspection and quality control teams to resolve issues with defective or unacceptable products.
  • Implement inventory price adjustments and coordinate regular business review meetings with key suppliers.
  • Provide insightful analysis to inform our procurement strategy and policy.
  • Analyze supplier invoices and issue adjustments as needed.
  • Assist our Inside Sales team with sales quotes by negotiating with suppliers to secure the best price and lead time.
  • Recommend improvements to our purchasing process to increase operational efficiency.
Requirements:
  • 2 years of purchasing/supply chain experience, preferably in the industrial fabrication industry.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding automotive technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong math and science skills, including metric and English conversion.
  • High proficiency in Excel.
  • Pass a drug test and background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3 years of procurement experience.
  • Associate's degree.
  • Spanish language proficiency.
