Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst to support the Track-type Tractor manufacturing facility. This role is part of the Resource Industries Operations and Products (RIOP) division at Caterpillar.

In this capacity, you will utilize your strong business acumen and exceptional problem-solving skills to assist functional leaders in maximizing enterprise value. You will engage with various accounting functions, conduct complex analyses, and make informed business decisions and recommendations. This position also offers opportunities to enhance your communication and presentation skills while interacting with facility and Resource Industries Finance management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct financial analyses to assess facility performance and ensure accountability.
  • Lead financial planning and analysis for multiple functional organizations within the facility.
  • Deliver actionable insights through comprehensive analysis of financial results.
  • Oversee investment analysis (Discounted Cash Flow) and provide financial guidance on significant facility initiatives.
  • Facilitate strategy sessions to enhance financial and operational performance and support strategic planning for senior management.
  • Manage the tracking and accountability of the facility's OPACC Improvement Agenda (OIA).
  • Support and lead projects focused on sustainable cost reduction through collaboration with business partners.
  • Mentor and develop team members, including those from overseas centers of excellence (COE).
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in analytical techniques and tools; capable of identifying root causes of organizational issues and developing effective solutions.
  • Decision-Making: Knowledgeable in decision-making processes and tools; adept at analyzing situations to make informed, productive decisions.
  • Financial Acumen: Familiar with financial analysis tools and methodologies; able to interpret and draw conclusions from financial data.
  • Project Management: Skilled in managing multiple priorities and projects effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Proficient in effective communication techniques; able to convey and interpret ideas and information accurately.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Certification: CPA, CMA, or equivalent.
  • MBA or a master's degree in accounting or related field.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Alteryx, Axiom, Power BI, Tableau, etc.

  • This role is a full-time, hybrid position requiring in-office presence.
