We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to take on the role of Lead Cost Analyst. The successful candidate will be entrusted with the critical task of producing and documenting precise cost estimates to support proposal initiatives. This role involves leading, maintaining, and coordinating project cost assessments to align with project timelines.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Analyze solicitation workload data to pinpoint essential workload factors and identify any gaps in information.
+ Formulate inquiries for clients to gather necessary details for accurate cost estimation.
+ Employ industry-standard tools and methodologies, such as RSMeans and UFC, to create initial cost assessments.
+ Collaborate with subject matter experts to enhance the accuracy of estimates.
+ Facilitate and coordinate the preparation of estimates for specialized trades.
+ Document the sources of estimation data, including parameters, values, and model approaches used in parametric estimates.
+ Conduct product research to support maintenance standards relevant to cost estimates.
+ Develop bid packages for outsourced services and achieve consensus with operational teams on requirements and quality control standards.
+ Ensure comprehensive inclusion of all work scope items (e.g., assumptions, performance standards, quality control methods) in the Basis of Estimate (BOE) Worksheets.
+ Prepare clear and well-structured BOE Worksheets.
+ Thoroughly analyze subcontractor and vendor bids to ensure all scope items are addressed; establish consistency among bids for evaluating the lowest bidder.
+ Generate conceptual trade estimates and review historical cost data to refine estimates.
+ Assist in documenting assumptions and cost estimates.
+ Evaluate labor estimates for specific projects and locations, demonstrating expertise in material, labor, subcontractor, and equipment cost estimates for specialized areas.
+ Aid in assembling comprehensive and well-organized estimate presentations.
+ Organize and archive data for historical estimating purposes.
+ Visit ongoing projects to gather insights in core specialty trade areas.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in finance, engineering, or business administration, along with a minimum of 10 years of industry experience, including at least 5 years in estimating Facility Maintenance projects.
+ Candidates should exhibit a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment. The ability to manage multiple priorities amidst interruptions while meeting deadlines is essential. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required, along with strong organizational capabilities.
+ High proficiency in MS Excel and internet research is essential.
