Job Summary

The Culinary Services Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the culinary services department at The Current South Shore. This role ensures resident satisfaction by delivering a variety of food options that are nutritious and well-plated.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and direct all aspects of the culinary services department
  • Oversee the production of all meals while maintaining high quality, excellent service practices, and superior customer service
  • Hire, train, and mentor all culinary services department team members
  • Ensure all HACCP protocols are adhered to and documented to ensure safe food handling
  • Responsible for adhering to budgets
  • Occasionally cover weekends as Manager on Duty
  • Participate in and attend all in-service training as scheduled
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as community policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in culinary arts, hospitality, nutrition, or business
  • Minimum of two (2) years culinary services administration experience, preferably in senior living
  • ServSafe certification required
  • Must have training and experience in cost control, food management, and diet therapy
  • Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel) with the ability to learn new applications
