About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Maritime Security Officer to join our team at MARTINEZ AND COMPANY, INC.. As a key member of our Critical Infrastructure Security Team, you will play a vital role in protecting our nation's critical infrastructure and ensuring the safety of our citizens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide security services for the Port of Tampa Bay, ensuring the safety and security of personnel, assets, and infrastructure.
  • Work in partnership with local and federal law enforcement agencies to prevent and respond to security threats.
  • Conduct security patrols, inspections, and surveillance to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
  • Enforce security protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with Homeland Security guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other security personnel to share intelligence and best practices.
Requirements
  • Must be in possession of a valid Florida Class D license from the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
  • Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must have at least one year of experience in security or supervisory-related positions.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to commute to various job sites as assigned.
  • Must have basic computer skills, including proficiency in emailing, web browsing, and Microsoft Word.
  • Must be able to work well individually and with minimal managerial oversight.
  • Must have strong English communication skills, including reading and writing.
  • Must be able to safely work in a variety of environments, including commercial and industrial locations.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and have a neat, professional appearance.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of maritime security enforcement guidelines, including MTSA and laws, regulations, and ordinances governing Hillsborough County.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications or ability to obtain.
  • Prior military or law enforcement experience, with documentation to support entitlement to preference.
