About the Role

We are seeking highly professional and trained Security Officers to join our team at Martinez and Company, Inc. as Port Security Specialists. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our clients' interests and personnel at the Port of Tampa Bay.

Key Responsibilities
  • Control access to secured areas and ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents and emergencies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the facility and surrounding areas to identify potential security threats.
  • Collaborate with local and federal law enforcement agencies to ensure compliance with maritime security regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional image at all times.
Requirements
  • Valid Florida Class D license from the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) or ability to obtain.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum one year of experience in security or supervisory-related positions.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation and a smartphone with internet access.
  • Basic computer skills, including emailing, web browsing, and Microsoft Word.
  • Strong English communication skills, including reading and writing.
  • Ability to safely work in a variety of environments, including commercial and industrial locations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maintain a neat and professional appearance.
  • Pass a background investigation and drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of maritime security enforcement guidelines, including MTSA and Hillsborough County regulations.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications or ability to obtain.
  • Prior military or law enforcement experience.
