Overview:
A prominent client of Insight Global is looking to enhance their team by bringing on a Product Team Manager. This role encompasses two main responsibilities.

Role Responsibilities:
In the first capacity, the Product Team Manager will supervise all facets of project and product-related activities. This includes ensuring effective coordination, communication, and meeting the expectations of both the Product Owner and Product Sponsor regarding budget and timelines.

The manager will also be responsible for securing resources from Resource Managers and orchestrating the efforts of Product Team members, including external contractors or consultants, to achieve the product goals established by the Product Owner and Product Sponsor.

Additionally, the Product Team Manager will aid in defining project objectives and oversee quality assurance throughout the product or project lifecycle.

In the second capacity, the Product Team Manager will oversee a specific suite of technology products. This involves documenting the product strategy and managing the product lifecycle activities for current, upcoming, and future products within the portfolio, while collaborating with the Product Management Team to develop and implement product roadmaps.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the team as needed to ensure value delivery.
  • Deliver business value promptly.
  • Assist in defining and documenting project scope, goals, objectives, and deliverables that align with business objectives in partnership with product owners and sponsors.
  • Organize and facilitate project planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos, and other Scrum-related meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to ensure requirements align with product goals and objectives.
  • Communicate product and project statuses effectively to team members, product owners, sponsors, and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with product owners and sponsors through regular meetings and discussions.
  • Manage and monitor project scope, schedule, and budget, recommending changes as necessary.
  • Negotiate with resource managers for the acquisition of necessary personnel.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities appropriately.
  • Work with subject matter experts and stakeholders to plan, develop, and launch high-quality product experiences.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the product team and with Resource Managers.
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor timelines, milestones, and deliverables using suitable tools.
  • Establish and manage success criteria and measures of success.
  • Oversee weekly accounting, including team hours, expenses, budget, and invoices.
  • Conduct product reviews, comparing projections to actuals and identifying successful and unsuccessful elements.
  • Collaborate with Resource Managers to monitor and adjust human resource capacity and provide performance feedback.

Compensation:
The pay rate for this position can range from $65-75/hr, depending on experience, skills, and education.

Benefits:
Benefit packages will commence on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, along with access to a 401k retirement account with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as mandated by applicable law.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in Project Management.
  • Experience managing IT projects, including application development, infrastructure, and security-related projects.
  • Strong familiarity with project planning tools.
  • PMP and/or CSM certification.
