Job Title: Director of Multicultural Engagement and Belonging

Job Summary:

Northwest Nazarene University Inc is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as the Director of Multicultural Engagement and Belonging. This key leadership role will focus on creating a campus environment that values diversity, promotes inclusivity, and fosters a sense of belonging among students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance multicultural learning, engagement, and belonging for all students, with a focus on marginalized and underserved populations.
  • Collaborate with campus departments and student organizations to design and deliver programs, services, and initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Provide consultation, mentorship, and support to students, faculty, and staff to address issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Collect, analyze, and disseminate data on multicultural student populations to inform decision-making and improve outcomes.
  • Participate in campus-wide initiatives and committees to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and to address systemic barriers to student success.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with external organizations and community groups to advance the university's diversity and inclusion goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion, and apply this knowledge to inform programming and services.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as education, counseling, or social work.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion work, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including students, faculty, and staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data to inform decision-making.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with diverse populations, including students of color, international students, and students with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion, including culturally responsive teaching and learning.
  • Experience with program evaluation and assessment, including data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
