DispatchHealth is actively seeking dedicated Medical Technicians to enhance our expanding clinical team. We are in search of motivated, diligent individuals with exceptional organizational and customer service abilities to collaborate closely with our Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in our CLIA certified mobile laboratory. This role involves direct engagement in patient care, providing a unique opportunity to gain invaluable experience in mobile healthcare. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be offered for this rewarding position in healthcare delivery. Current EMT certification is a prerequisite for this role within DispatchHealth, a medical practice organization focused on delivering care in patient homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate under the guidance of licensed NP/PA providers
  • Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs
  • Perform IV insertions and blood collections (as allowed by state regulations)
  • Apply splints as necessary
  • Provide wound care
  • Utilize point-of-care laboratory equipment, including its operation, calibration, and upkeep
  • Execute EKGs
  • Support NP/PAs in the daily operations of a mobile care delivery unit
  • Maintain accurate documentation
  • Manage supplies and inventory

Qualifications

  • Medical Technician with IV Certification and Basic Certification in Maryland, along with an EMT License (required for hiring)
  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree in a core science or laboratory science and at least 2 years of experience in chemistry and hematology, particularly with i-STAT device experience, are encouraged to apply.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Capability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to navigate multiple flights of stairs with ease
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
