JOB SUMMARY
The CLINICAL LABORATORY SPECIALIST is a skilled professional tasked with the precise execution of laboratory examinations that ascertain the presence, absence, or origin of diseases through various methodologies for specimen collection and processing.
Candidates should possess a minimum of two years of relevant experience. The automated laboratory serves a diverse patient demographic, ranging from neonates to geriatric individuals. Certification from ASCP - MT/ASCP-MLT is required, along with a willingness to adapt to varying shifts.
CLS certification is mandatory.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED
Experience with Cerner and CentraLink-Siemens is essential.

Compensation ranges from $48 to $50 per hour.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Medical Laboratory Technologist: A bachelor's degree is required.
Medical Laboratory Technician: An associate degree or equivalent is necessary.
LICENSURE
Current and unrestricted licensure or registration as mandated by the state of practice; national membership in a medical laboratory technology/technician organization as per client specifications, such as the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or the National Credentialing Agency (NCA) for Laboratory Personnel.
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist in a clinical environment is required.
CREDENTIALS
Health and screening assessments as mandated by specific facilities and/or regulatory bodies.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Various client facility settings; potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other infectious materials.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to ATC policies and procedures.
- Follow client facility policies and procedures.
- Accurately document services rendered.
- Maintain confidentiality concerning patient care and facility practices in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Provide patient services in a respectful, non-discriminatory manner that acknowledges cultural diversity and age appropriateness, ensuring the preservation of autonomy, rights, and dignity.
The specialist should be capable of collecting a comprehensive range of laboratory tests, from routine to complex, with minimal supervision.
Conduct routine laboratory tests in blood banking, chemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology, and urinalysis under direct supervision.
Responsible for operating computers, precision instruments, and other complex electronic laboratory equipment as required for the assignment.
Effectively communicate information to relevant personnel.
Adhere to accepted ethical and professional standards of conduct.
