DispatchHealth is actively seeking Medical Technicians to enhance our expanding clinical team. We are in search of motivated, diligent individuals who possess strong organizational and customer service abilities to collaborate directly with our Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in our CLIA certified mobile laboratory. This role involves direct patient interaction, providing an opportunity to gain invaluable experience in mobile healthcare. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be offered for this rewarding position in the healthcare sector. A current EMT certification is a prerequisite for this role within DispatchHealth as a medical practice organization delivering care in patient residences.

Responsibilities

  • Operate under the guidance of licensed NP/PA providers
  • Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs
  • Perform IV starts and blood draws in accordance with state regulations
  • Apply splints as necessary
  • Provide wound care
  • Engage with point-of-care laboratory equipment, including its operation, calibration, and upkeep
  • Execute EKGs
  • Assist NP/PAs in the daily operations of a mobile care delivery unit
  • Maintain accurate documentation
  • Manage supply inventory and stocking

Qualifications

  • Medical Technician with IV Certification and Basic Certification in Maryland, along with an EMT License (required for hiring)
  • Candidates holding a bachelor's degree in a core science or laboratory science with at least 2 years of experience in chemistry and hematology, particularly with familiarity in using an i-STAT device, are encouraged to apply.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Capability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to navigate multiple flights of stairs with ease
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
