Position Summary:

This role involves the meticulous sorting, washing, and drying of linens while adhering to established infection control protocols.

Reports To: Housekeeping Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Sorts and weighs soiled linens to prepare for processing.
  2. Operates washer-extractors, selecting suitable wash formulas and cycles for various textiles.
  3. Transfers clean linens from washer-extractors to drying and folding areas.
  4. Loads dryers with clean linens, ensuring appropriate cycles and times are set.
  5. Unloads dryers and prepares clean linens for pressing and folding.
  6. Maintains accurate records of soiled linen weights on washman logs.
  7. Moves processed linens to storage for delivery and distribution.
  8. Monitors washer-extractors for optimal performance and reports any malfunctions.
  9. Ensures laundry chemical dispensers function correctly and replaces drums as necessary.
  10. Maintains lint traps and trough screens to ensure proper operation.
  11. Assists in training new staff members.
  12. Performs daily cleaning and other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
  13. Completes additional duties as required.

Working Conditions:
