Position Summary:

This role is essential for the efficient sorting, washing, and drying of linens while adhering to strict infection control protocols.

Reports To: Housekeeping Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Sorts and weighs soiled linens for processing.
  2. Operates washer-extractors, selecting appropriate wash formulas and cycles.
  3. Transfers clean linens for drying and folding.
  4. Utilizes dryers, selecting suitable cycles for different textiles.
  5. Prepares clean linens for pressing and folding.
  6. Maintains accurate records of soiled linen weights.
  7. Organizes processed linens for storage and distribution.
  8. Monitors equipment for proper operation and reports any issues.
  9. Ensures laundry chemicals are functioning correctly and replenishes as necessary.
  10. Maintains lint traps and trough screens.
  11. Assists in training new staff members.
  12. Performs daily cleaning and other tasks as directed by the Supervisor.
  13. Completes additional duties as assigned.
