Advanced Practice Nurse in Primary Care

About Us:
Medical Group Alaska is in search of a dedicated Primary Care Nurse Practitioner to perform a range of health assessments for various clients, including federal and defense personnel. The successful candidate will conduct these evaluations through in-person visits, telephonic consultations, or telehealth platforms. This position requires occasional national travel, up to 30%, to deliver physical assessments for veterans and active service members across multiple sites. All travel expenses will be reimbursed, and a per diem will be provided.
Compensation Structure:
The salary for this role ranges from $110,000 to $160,000, depending on the candidate's experience and educational background, with the possibility of an annual bonus of up to 30%.
Work Environment and Expectations:
- Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, with an 8-hour workday scheduled between 7 AM and 6 PM, and flexibility for weekend or evening shifts as needed.
- Comprehensive onboarding and training will be provided, with increasing complexity in patient encounters as proficiency develops.
- A fully staffed clinic will be available to support daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform physical examinations for a diverse clientele, including federal and defense entities.
- Draft detailed medical opinions based on available medical records and acceptable clinical evidence.
- Conduct telephonic and virtual health assessments.
- Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals and maintain clear communication with both internal and external team members.
Essential Skills:

- Possess the analytical skills necessary to evaluate health status through thorough physical examinations and to formulate medical opinions.
Qualifications:
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution.
- Current national certification with ANCC or AANP.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in primary care or internal medicine.
- Unrestricted state medical licensure to practice fully in the state of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in conducting occupational or disability medical evaluations.
