Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Landscape Construction Superintendent is crucial in overseeing and executing high-quality landscape development projects. This role entails leading various teams, providing daily updates to Project Managers, Construction Managers, designers, and ensuring adherence to quality standards.

Compensation: $70,000-$85,000

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Landscape Installation Excellence

  • Ensures precise execution of projects in line with plans and financial parameters.
  • Thoroughly reviews and adheres to: blueprints, grading plans, irrigation designs, planting schemes, construction drawings, proposals, and budgets.
  • Establishes site grades and levels utilizing advanced tools.
  • Collaborates with Project Managers, Construction Managers, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Delivers exceptional customer service, maintaining high satisfaction levels.

Quality Assurance

  • Conducts inspections on all assigned projects, identifying and resolving issues. Escalates significant concerns to the designated Project Manager.
  • Monitors project progress, ensuring timelines and budgets are strictly followed.
  • Communicates project status, advancements, and challenges to Project & Construction Managers in a timely manner.
  • Regularly visits job sites to meet with Foremen, gathering updates and providing assistance as needed.
  • Oversees subcontractor performance to guarantee quality workmanship and timely project completion.

Team and Project Leadership

  • Directs frontline teams, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints.
  • Engages with Project Managers and Construction Managers to formulate actionable plans.
  • Manages equipment usage on projects, including storage, maintenance, and security, ensuring all services meet contractual obligations.
  • Assists Construction Managers with on-site coaching, evaluation, and training of frontline teams in landscape construction best practices.

Time Management and Reporting

  • Tracks hours and project progress through designated reporting channels.
  • Maintains precise daily timekeeping records using appropriate software.
  • Submits accurate timecards to internal stakeholders on a daily basis.
  • Leads teams to ensure projects remain within allocated time budgets.

Training, Development, and Safety Compliance

  • Identifies and addresses training needs for frontline team members.
  • Ensures adherence to safety and Lifescape standards, promptly addressing unsafe conditions.
  • Evaluates safety data to promote safe working practices, ensuring team attendance at weekly safety meetings.
  • Conducts regular inventories of equipment and tools with assigned teams.
  • Ensures proper maintenance of equipment and tools.
  • Assesses equipment usage and recommends future purchases as necessary.

Snow Management Duties

  • Maintains readiness for snow removal operations during winter months.
  • Operates snow removal machinery effectively.
  • Performs snow clearing tasks in designated areas as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Construction, or a related field; or 8 years of combined education and experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Familiar with construction management software and job documentation.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
  • Able to interpret construction plans and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Capable of executing all aspects of landscape, hardscape, and irrigation construction.
