Overview

A well-established General Contractor is in search of a Construction Project Superintendent to manage small-scale commercial projects across the Denver metropolitan area. These projects encompass both new construction and tenant improvements.

Company Background

This family-oriented General Contractor operates on a small to medium scale, handling projects valued up to $8 million, including both renovations and new builds. They value individuals who are approachable, passionate about construction, dedicated to their work, and enjoy their roles.

Key Responsibilities

The Construction Project Superintendent will be tasked with:

  • Coordinating the activities of all construction subcontractors in collaboration with the main office.
  • Scheduling, overseeing, and being present for inspections by relevant agencies.
  • Interpreting and understanding information contained in architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and landscape drawings and specifications.
  • Reviewing shop drawings and reports prepared by testing and inspection agencies.
  • Preparing and tracking Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Documenting daily reports and capturing progress photographs.
  • Utilizing computer operating systems including Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel; managing PDF files and other documents effectively.
  • Engaging with design professionals, subcontractors, project managers, and local officials to address issues, mitigate conflicts, and resolve disputes.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized job site and enforcing safety standards.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate for the Construction Project Superintendent position will possess:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in large-scale commercial new construction (experience in luxury retail construction is advantageous).
  • A comprehensive understanding of the construction process.
  • Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting all construction documents, including specifications and drawings.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with management, subcontractors, consultants, architects, vendors, and clients.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to take on multiple responsibilities to ensure timely project completion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Base salary ranging from $115,000 to $125,000.
